Ulbrich Stainless Steels and Special Metals, Inc., an international company and family owned business since 1924 supplies stainless steels and special metals in strip, foil, flat, fine and shaped wire products. 

In 2001 Ulbrich purchased Steel Heddle in Westminster, South Carolina.  After the purchase, Steel Heddle became Ulbrich Precision Flat Wire.  Ulbrich now has four facilities that manufacture PV ribbon products located in the United States, Ireland, Austria and Hong Kong.

 

1992: Steel Heddle manufactured and sold pv ribbon for the first time. 

1995: An agreement is made with Enlog, www.enlog.us  a full service solar manufacturing sales group.

1999:  Start to sell pv ribbon products internationally.

2004:  The solar market begins to explode and Ulbrich increases capacity to keep up.

2005:  Ulbrich Precision Metals, Ireland begins to manufacture pv ribbon products.  More Ulbrich capacity increases.  Our competition begins to fall behind.

2007:  Austria and Hong Kong begin to build and ramp up.  Ulbrich capacity is now more than 4,000 Gigawatts total for our four manufacturing areas.
